前注：这些年在创作近体诗并就此研究古汉语措辞学时，总会想到如何以英语向天下推介中国的近体诗。自己岁数大了，手头又始终有很多事得做，恐已无可能，但总得考试测验一下吧。这次就将自己昨天写的这首七绝《自嘲》试着翻译了一下。这里挂出，请各位对此感兴趣的读者欣赏示正。

《自嘲》
云天入暮带秋风，心有期兮道未穷。
谁啸溪前惊宿鹭？无人知是白头翁。

The English Traslation of This Poam:
The Seven Character Quatrain
“Self-Deprecation”
As the sky with clouds is entering dusks,
While the autumn wind blows.
My heart is filled with anticipation,
Because the road has no ends.
Who is roaring in front of creek,
causing flying away some startled herons？
No one knows it has been done from me,
an old man with white hairs.
