One of the most famous dogs who ever lived was a homeless Skye terrier named Bobby. As a puppy, he attached himself to an elderly Scottish shepherd named Auld Jock.

Jock died in 1858, and for the next fourteen years, Bobby guarded his master's grave day and night. He would leave it briefly each day, only to go to the same restaurant where his master used to go.

He'd be given food and would eat it near the grave. The citizens of Edinburgh erected a shelter to shield Bobby from the cold winters, and when he died in 1872, he was buried beside Auld Jock.
